A Blast in Bali

Speaking of blasts -- this is also the site of the 2 major bombs that happened in the Balinese night club in October 2002 -- I went to the memorial and saw the long list of names. I have a feeling that the influx of tourists is so fundamentally changing the social fabric that there are some extremists willing to do just about anything to protect their way of life. I asked a local if he thought there would be more bombs, and he said yes. Sad sad sad. I was walking past the monument late last night and about 7 motorcycles pulled up with two people on each, and the person on back had an assault rifle and was in battle gear. So security is pretty high -- a little freaky tho.

Just spent last night spinning fire on the beach -- I lit up my new poi for the first time and it seemed like an idyllic setting with the gently crashing waves and below a bright moon and clear sky. Met a local guy named Rey who's the head of a 5 person troupe over here -- they are the only spinners on the island, so it was nice to cross paths.

And even got to go to a Tofu Factory!!
