Bon Voyage Bonfire Party

Some say that you can measure a man by the company he keeps, so it is with great honor and joy that I look out out on you beautiful bright souls who have contributed to my life and journey. This Tribe is a sacred collective and should be cherished as family. You have taught me how to be a good friend, and how to love in ways that I did not know possible. You have shown me that we can manifest our biggest dreams, regardless the cost. You have shared the inspiration of your strengths, and consoled me in weakness. We have played together, dreamed together, constructed together, and lived together.

What a joy to be surrounded by a sea of friends, all holding torches!

While collecting the photos for this evening's display, I sorted thru 5 years of photos that you and I have taken. This was a powerful experience to be reminded of the awesome times we shared. Some of the highlights in my mind are:
-- Gypsy music on the Tybee Island beach as the full moon rose red over the water.
-- Converting Constances truck into the awe-inspiring black pearl, complete with 3 sails, and jamming out in the parade
-- The mural project in my house where we painted mount fuji over the water, 17feet by 8 feet
-- The geodesic dome construction crew, and the party that we had in the sacred hemisphere at the Boogie
-- Building the Temple of Gravity at Burning Man
-- Many hand massage sessions
-- Fire sculptures, fire spinning, fire fire fire!!!
-- and so many other wonders

SO WHY AM I LEAVING?
I had to ask myself this many times over the last 6 months, and it was complicated by my creating a list of all of the amazing thigs in my life here. Asia holds many secrets and is the home of the great wonders of the world numbers 8 thru I don't even know what. I am called to the lighthearted and optimistic spirit of the people, the beauty of the beaches and mountains, the chance to scuba dive often, and, quixotically, by the spirit behind Sir Edmond Hillary's response to why he wanted to climb Everest -- because it is there!

Hope that the spark that I contributed to Atlanta will continue to burn, adding to the radiant flames of our Tribal collective. So shine bright, my friends -- you will serve as the beacon blazing out across the wide ocean to guide me home.
